In one of the reviews of this hotel I have read the following: “Calm and a kind of good rest”. Agree! The hotel is wonderful! I liked holidays in Kyrgyzstan! And now, a little bit more details.
Accommodation: We had a two-room suite in the cottage. The cost is comparable to the standard rooms of Cholpon-Ata hotels. In the room: a wonderful veranda with rattan furniture (sofa, two armchairs, pouf, and table), double bed, sofa, two TVs, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle, dishes (cups, plates, spoons and knives), jacuzzi. Hotel special feature: Cleaning every three days. The maid left her phone number, was attentive and prompt, the request to replace the light bulb in the lamp was solved instantly. The water in the room is actually warm, as it comes from an underground source, you need to be prepared for this. It takes a long time to run it off for it to become warm.
Food: Excellent! Ordering meals from the menu (choice of 3 – 5 dishes, European and national cuisine, we preferred the national one) during breakfast the next day. There is something to choose for infant food. Servings are large and tasty. Sample breakfast: chocolate balls with milk, pancakes with fruits, sandwich with cheese and butter, tea, coffee; Lunch: salad, delicious lagman, luleh kebab with baked potatoes, fruits, and dried fruit drink. The waitresses are attentive and charming!
Beach: Private, sandy. Sun loungers, umbrellas are for free, enough for everyone. They build a pool, by August, I think, it will be ready. There are four saunas (two on the pier, two on the territory of the hotel), 1500 KG soms per hour. You can soak in the water from the underground spring in a small sauna pool for 100 KG soms. The water is really wonderful!
Territory: Green and well-groomed.
The staff is professional and attentive. Such a welcoming meeting we saw neither in the “country of a hundred smiles” Tae, nor in Vietnam. Local residents are also always ready to help and give hints.
The hotel is located relatively far from the nearest settlement and far from the airport. Therefore, it is better to go by car; there is a parking area at the hotel. If you go by a public transport and cannot imagine a vacation without shopping or excursions, consider expenses for the transfer. We traveled by public transport, so I can tell you how to get from the airport, etc.
And … Tips … It is better to go in July through August, in June you cannot guess the weather. The lake is located high above the sea level, the sun is treacherous there! You can get burned at +25 as well. Do not forget the sun blocking cream! It is cool in the evenings by the lake, for evening walks grab some warm clothes (not fur boots, of course, but thick jeans and a turtleneck or a light jumper will be nice to have!)
We traveled by cars from Almaty through Kegen. The road is very picturesque, crossed the border without queues. The hotel itself is very cozy and since it was still not high season, it was not crowded.
Booked a 2-room cottage in advance. In addition to the bedroom, living room with a fold-out sofa and toilet, the cottage has a veranda. On the veranda there are wicker chairs and sofa. There is a clothes dryer, iron, hair dryer, and towels. On the last day of stay, a frog was noticed in the room. It was warm in the rooms, apparently had heating, unlike the glazed veranda. Unfortunately, the boiler did not work, but the water was still warm. Also in the cottage there were 2 TVs, refrigerator, and safe. The maid came for cleaning on the 5th day only.
The beach is clean, lots of sun loungers, clean all the time throughout the vacation hotel territory, on the pier there are 2 pipes with warm mineral water. We really liked the sauna at the pier very much (1500 KG soms per hour), tea is also served. The bar on the pier during our stay did not work yet, only at the beach. Until 8 July the pool with warm mineral water was for free. Sun loungers are also enough for everyone.
Food as everywhere, probably, quite tasty. We were choosing dishes one day ahead.
In general, the whole area is very beautiful and green. The lantern light was not working along the path to our cottage, they fixed it in a couple of days (this is not something negative, just a fact). Animators also try, although not as groovy as everyone is used to seeing in Turkey. However, the child liked it.
We came to have rest with a group of friends to Issyk-Kul in June. We are from Kazakhstan, we often go to Issyk-Kul. One of our friends on the recommendation persuaded us to go to Marco Polo Hotel, which is located on the southern coast. We have never been on the southern coast before! Now many people choose a vacation on the south coast, they say that the water is cleaner and better. We decided to try it and did not regret it! We arrived early in the morning before breakfast. In spite of the early morning, girls at the reception greeted us warmly and placed us quickly. With a view to economy we rented economy class rooms. Expected the worst, but as it turned out in vain! The rooms were clean, good quality linen, well laundered, three towels per each! However, the toilet area is one for two rooms, but since there were 10 of us, we took two sections, and this turned out to be convenient, there was no one else around. We went to the dining room for breakfast after placement; the breakfast was not bad, cereal, pancakes, sandwiches, and tea. Here we learned that on Saturday 17 June hotel will have a 10 years anniversary! We did not get to the banquet, but watched a concert that was held on the beach in the evening. In the daytime there were draws, contests, and the day of Neptune was held. It was a lot of fun, it seemed that we got in our childhood years!
We liked the beach, territory, and pool. The food was still not very good! They had delays in serving, the cooks did not have enough time, we usually were leaving without waiting for the second course for lunch. A big request to the management: do not spoil the impression of your beautiful hotel with such a trifle that is most of all paid attention at vacation, i.e. food! Do not save on this, especially since there are a lot of and all holidaymakers then share their impressions about the weather and food! But, despite everything, we highly recommend to rest at least once in this hotel!
Had vacation at Issyk-Kul during the velvet season, chose this hotel on the recommendation of friends that have rest there every year. I did not regret my choice and I advise to everyone.
We arrived ahead of time of placement time, but responsive girls from reception placed us “ahead of the game”.
We lived in a building room on the first floor, which has its own balcony and bathroom. The room was clean, with three towels per each. In addition, the room has a TV, refrigerator and armchair. Cleaned the room, as it should be, every day. The staff is very polite, always asked if it was convenient for us.
The cost of living included three meals a day. Every day the waiter offers dishes to choose from. It has always been very tasty and plenty!
The territory of the hotel is big and green. Many benches and swings. There is a play area for children and a separate warm pool with mineral waters.
Great beach, lots of sun loungers and volleyball court. We took the ball from the staff for free.
There is a large pier with a bath and a café.
I advise everyone to book a sauna at the pier in the evening. When else you will be able dive from the steam room directly into Issyk-Kul lake?
As for entertainment, there is a disco, exercises in the morning and yoga. We went for massage and liked it!
If you like to spend holidays in a clean and pleasant place – this is the best choice at Issyk-Kul.
